Well, hello there!
I recently had an awesome experience photographing my first event Spark, a women’s event held at Northplace Church, which also happens to be the church I attend. It was a huge event with roughly 500 women in attendance!
All of the guests showed up with lots of spirit and enthusiasm. This was a conference for women on renewing your mind through science and the Bible with guest speaker Dr. Caroline Leaf. The church looked absolutely amazing, as well.
The look and feel of the church was modern and cozy with giant flowers, succulents, comfy pillows and throws, and candles all through out the foyer. Outside there was live music, fire pits, and s’mores! As guests walked in they were greeted by wonderful volunteers and given a little goody bag with some fun stuff inside.
The church also hosted a handful of vendors including one very special to the church Lonesome Dove Ranch, which is owned and operated by the lead pastor Bryan and his wife Haley. It is a camp that during the summer hosts abused and neglected kids who might not otherwise get the attention and love they deserve. One special thing they do every summer is one day during the weeks of camp they celebrate each child’s birthday. Another vendor there was HandUp Global Goods, their goal is to eliminate a life of handouts for teens transitioning out of orphanages by working to seek social and spiritual change together. Every piece of jewelry this company sells is handmade! Such beautiful work and amazing cause!
Some memorable moments during the event were- the time of worship, the dance preformed by some of the church’s members, and the games and prize drawings (who doesn’t love prizes!). Once Dr. Leaf started speaking the room was at full attention. Her words were inspiring!
